 Strawberry Thokku



Ingredients :


1 lb strawberries roughly chopped

1/4 turmeric

1/4 roasted fenugreek powder 

1 1/2 teaspoons Kashmiri Chilli powder or to taste

2 tsp lemon juice

Salt to taste


For tempering :


1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon sesame oil 

1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds crushed

A pinch of hing



Method : 


- Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a kadai and add the crushed mustard seeds and pinch of asafoetida.

- Once mustard splutters, add the chopped strawberries, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.


- Cook over low flame stirring occasionally, till the strawberries turn mushy and the extra water is absorbed.

-Add 2 tsp lemon juice

-Add the extra one teaspoon of oil and continue to stir the mixture until the oil separates.
