Quinoa as many of know is one of the most unusually complete protein source because it contains a balanced set of amino acids essential for humans. So naturally,it is a healthy choice for vegetarians.I wish that was enough to get my family to include it in their diet.As all foods that are good for you,Quinoa doesn't satisfy your taste buds, especially kids',all that well. But there are plenty of ways in which it can be presented without having to encounter raised eyebrows. One such thing was "Quinoa, chana dal Pakoras".It was such a hit that, what started as an experiment has come to stay in our family favourite recipes.
1/2 cup Quinoa
1/2 cup chana dal
2 green chillies
1/2 an inch fresh ginger
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1 medium sized onion
chopped cilantro.
Soak Quinoa for 20 min and chana dal for an hour separately.
Remember to rinse quinoa well as it can taste bitter if not cleaned properly.
Coarsely Grind together the green chillies, ginger, garlic and fennel seeds with the quinoa and chana dal.Add salt, chopped onions and cilantro.
Deep fry in medium hot oil until crisp and golden brown.
