Will we ever learn?

Unemployment is closer to double digits than ever before. You hear more and more unsettling news every waking day.You have become a wary shopper(not that you would splurge earlier),buying only what you need and putting off what you can.You see more people with bigger wads of coupon clippings. You see that parents are actually teaching their kids the value of thrift. You hear middle schoolers talk about expensive school lunches and their choice to bring bag lunches when they can.People are actually laying off the expensive lattes they used to treat themselves with.....I can go on about these changes that we're seeing these days.I'm sure most of us think that all these are a sign of even worse things to come. Some people are ashamed that they have to live this way...But think about it.Look at it from a pragmatist's point of view....All that we were doing until now was mostly wasteful and unnecessary. This recession has shown us how to live within our means....Living large should never have felt good.Guess this is the price we pay ...
Steep price for a very valuable lesson...Let's hope that we don't forget the lessons learnt..
